Little Lattes, Big Dreams: How It All Started

If you’ve ever tried to enjoy a cup of coffee while wrangling a toddler, you already know—most cafés just aren’t built for families.

As a mom, I craved a space where I could actually sit down, enjoy a warm drink, and let my little one play safely nearby. Instead, I found myself pacing around cafés, sipping lukewarm coffee while trying not to disturb other guests. It felt like I had to choose between a peaceful moment for myself or a fun one for my child—and honestly, neither of us was winning.

That’s when the idea for Little Lattes Play Cafe was born.

I wanted to build a place where:

• Parents can enjoy really good coffee & espresso ☕

• Kids can explore and play in a safe, engaging space

• Families can connect with their community, not just pass through it

And to make sure every cup lives up to the experience, we’re proud to share that we’ve partnered with New Harvest Coffee Roasters, a Rhode Island-based roaster known for their quality, sustainability, and love for the local coffee community. We couldn’t imagine a better fit for the heart of our café.

We’re not open yet, but we’re hard at work behind the scenes—planning, designing, and bringing this vision to life in Coventry, RI. From play equipment delays to permits (hello, Rhode Island red tape 👋), we’re taking the smart and steady approach so that when we do open our doors, you’ll love every corner of it.

This café isn’t just a business—it’s a dream built for families like mine, and maybe yours too. I can’t wait to welcome you in, hand you a latte, and watch your little one dive into play while you enjoy a moment to yourself.
